How to Remove Cherry Stain From Cotton

Cherries and cotton never mix well. Cotton is always on the losing side with telltale signs in the shape of pink and red splotches. Whether the victim was a cotton tablecloth or a comfy cotton shirt or blouse, there's an easy way to set things right. There's no need to run out and buy expensive stain removers when the answer might be in your kitchen already. Cherries may have won the battle, but they won't win the war.

Step 1

Soak the cotton garment in cold water for about a minute. You can drop it in the sink and run cold water over it or you can fill the sink and drop it in.

Step 2

Wring the cotton garment out well and lay it on a flat surface with the stain easily accessible.

Step 3

Squeeze fresh lemon juice all over the stain. Use enough lemon juice to saturate it.

Step 4

Allow the garment to sit with the lemon juice on it for 30 minutes.

Step 5

Launder the shirt as usual.
