Your bathroom may be spotless upon first impression, but if lifting up the lid on the toilet exposes an ugly discoloration or stain, your entire bathroom can seem unclean. If you're looking to whiten your toilet bowl, but persistent stains are making it difficult, you may just need a few tricks to help you out. Little more than some ingenuity is required to whiten up your toilet bowl once again.
Whiten the Bowl with White Vinegar
Turn off the water supply to the toilet and flush to evacuate all the water.
Soak several paper towels in white vinegar.
Apply the paper towels to the stained areas of the toilet.
Allow the paper towels to sit on the area for two to three hours.
Dampen a green scrubbie pad or toilet brush and scrub the area to remove the discoloration.
Pour water into the bowl to rinse the area before turning the water back on and flushing again.
Whiten the Bowl with a Pumice Stone
Flush the toilet to make sure that there is nothing in the bowl except clean water.
Dip a pumice stone in clean water.
Scrub the stained area gently to remove the stain.
Follow up by scrubbing the area again with a green scrubbie pad.
Flush the toilet to rinse the area and repeat if needed until the stain is gone.
