When your dog urinates on the floor, it can make you frustrated. You need to clean the dog urine up immediately so that it does not stain your carpet. The stain can set in, which will make it more difficult to clean later. Dog urine not only leaves behind an unsightly stain, but it also will emit an unpleasant odor. Instead of using commercial cleaners to remove the urine, you can clean the area with items that you have around your home.
Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from the urine. Place an open trash bag next to the urine stain.
Blot up the dog urine with paper towels and discard them in the trash bag. Avoid rubbing the urine stain because it will spread the liquid.
Dilute the area with water. Pour six to eight oz. of water over the urine and then blot it up with paper towels.
Pour vinegar into a spray bottle. Spray the urine stain with the vinegar, and then place a dry washcloth over the area. Let it sit for one hour and then rinse the area with cool water.
Dry the surface with a clean towel. You can speed up the drying process by placing a fan in front of the wet area.
