How to Make Your Own Green Disinfectant Cleaner

This is an effective all purpose disinfectant cleanser. It's an all-natural and green substitute for chemical disinfectants. Use this for counter tops, sinks, or spray on floors and wipe away spills.

Step 1

In a plastic pump spray bottle, add 1/4 cup white vinegar. Vinegar is a disinfectant and it shines up surfaces really well without leaving behind any buildup.

Step 2

Squirt one teaspoon plain dish washing liquid into the spray bottle. The dish washing liquid should be just a plain old soapy liquid, not one with added bleach or bleach alternative. The cheapest, scent free variety is best. Dish washing liquid is a good cleaning agent, and the soapy film will be kept to a minimum with the vinegar addition.

Step 3

Add about 20 drops tea tree oil to the mixture. This oil will have quite a strong smell, but tea tree oil is a very effective disinfectant. Shake to mix well. Finally fill the bottle with water. That's it!

Step 4

You can use this all natural disinfectant cleaner on your counter tops, microwave, floors, in your bathroom or wherever you would use a disinfectant cleaner.
