Bissell offers a number of different steam cleaning units, all designed to deep-clean and sanitize your carpets, as well as upholstery around the home. The Bissell Little Green is a smaller unit, allowing you to easily transport it. Sometimes odor develops through use of the unit, making it important to deodorize properly.
Rinse out the Bissell Little Green after each use. Always remember to discard the collected dirty solution outdoors, then rinse it well with hot water.
Keep the cap off of the water reservoir, until the area inside has air dried fully.
Sprinkle one cup of baking soda into the dry water reservoir and close the lid. The baking soda will often absorb and remove the odor, without damaging the unit.
Let the baking soda sit overnight and discard it the following day.
Combine one cup of white vinegar with two cups of water and run it through the unit. This works well to disinfect and deodorize the water reservoir. Using vinegar in place of carpet cleaning solution prevents odor from developing, as it deodorizes the carpet as well as the Bissell unit.
