How to Remove Scuffs From a Plastic Auto Interior

When you step into your vehicle and accidentally scrape your shoe along the plastic frame of the car's interior, you are left with a black scuff from the rubber on your shoe sole. To keep your vehicle looking clean and cared for, you should use a cleaner that safely removes the scuff marks without scratching or otherwise damaging the plastic auto interior.

Step 1

Erase light scuff marks with a pencil eraser, rubbing just as you would to erase a mark from a piece of paper.

Step 2

Wet a cleaning eraser with warm water, and scrub the tougher scuffs. Luckily, plastic is a nonporous surface, so the scuffs easily rub off with the eraser, leaving the plastic in its original condition without causing harm.

Step 3

Moisten the edge of a cleaning rag with water, and wipe over the plastic surface once more.

Step 4

Dry the area with a dry rag to prevent water streaks on the plastic.
