How to Clean Grease From Kitchen Wood Cabinets

No matter how clean you keep your kitchen, grease has a way of building up in the cracks, crevices and the areas that are touched often by your hands. Regular dusting or washing does not remove the grease, so you need to find a way to thoroughly clean the wood without ruining the finish.

Step 1

Use Pledge. Simply spray furniture polish, such as Pledge, onto a microfiber cloth. Apply a little pressure to the corroded areas and the grease should eventually wipe clean.

Step 2

Use Dawn. Dawn dish washing liquid is known for its grease-cutting power. Fill a bucket with hot water. Apply a few drops of Dawn liquid to a microfiber cloth and dip it into the hot water. Knead the towel until it is soapy. Rub the soapy cloth on the greasy area of the cabinet.

Step 3

Apply stain remover. Stain removers work hard to take stains out of fabric. They can also aid in removing corroded places on wood surfaces. Use a product such as Spray N' Wash or Shout. Spray the product onto the greasy area and allow it to set for at least 15 minutes. Wipe the area clean with a dry microfiber cloth.

Step 4

Use rubbing alcohol on cotton swabs to wipe the greasy areas until they are clean. The alcohol will cut into the grease as well as disinfect the area. To remove the smell of alcohol, simply wash the area with warm soapy water.
