How to Remove Greasy Film From Kitchen Cabinets

Grease is present in nearly all kitchen areas, and when cooking foods in oil the grease commonly splatters onto your kitchen cabinets. This leaves your cabinets in need of a cleaning routine that will remove all of the grease. When cleaning, avoid chemical-based products since the kitchen is the area of the home where you prepare foods. A versatile homemade cleaning solution will remove grease buildup from all cabinet types as well as the hardware.

Remove greasy film from kitchen cabinets with dish soap.

Step 1

Fill the sink with about 2 quarts warm water, 2 tbsp. dish soap and an optional 1/2 cup of white vinegar for cabinets with heavy grease residue.

Step 2

Dip a cleaning rag into the water and wring out the rag. Wipe this rag over your kitchen cabinets, dipping back into the mixture as needed until you remove all grease.

Step 3

Rinse a fresh cleaning rag under warm water, wring it out and wipe across the cabinets to remove any leftover cleaning film.

Step 4

Wipe the cabinets dry with a clean rag.
