Stubborn soap scum and hard water stains can be difficult to remove from shower doors, walls and faucets. However, you can use common household products to make the task easier and have the showers clean in no time.
Use a fabric softener/dryer sheet to remove soap scum from shower doors. Simply scrub with the dryer sheet to get rid of the deposits.
Oven cleaner works well to remove hard water stains and soap scum from shower walls and doors. Spray the cleaner and leave it for 10 minutes. Wipe clean with a cloth and hot water.
Mix 3/4 cup of salt with vinegar to equal 1 cup of solution. Use a sponge to apply the mixture and scrub the shower walls and door to remove hard water deposits. Rinse with warm water.
Spray furniture polish on the shower door to remove soap scum and prevent future buildup of deposits.
Add white vinegar to a spray bottle. Spray vinegar on shower doors and walls. Wipe clean.
Lemon juice, mouthwash, baby oil and liquid fabric softener all can be effective in removing stubborn soap scum from showers.
