How to Make Your Bed With a Memory Foam Mattress Topper

Memory Foam was originally created by NASA as a material to help astronauts handle the pressure during take off. Before long, it hit the market in the form of mattresses and mattress toppers and was an immediate success. Because memory foam conforms to the shape of the body, mattress toppers are an ideal way for those with neck or back problems to receive the support they need while sleeping. Although you can purchase whole mattresses created from memory foam, a mattress topper is an easy, cost efficient way to transform an existing mattress.

Step 1

Remove all the bedding from your bed, including the sheets and mattress pad.

Step 2

Lay the memory foam on top of the bare mattress, and match up the corners evenly. If there is any extra length on the mattress, keep it up near the top of the bed to ensure a cleaner line at the bottom when the bed is made.

Step 3

Place a mattress cover over the top of the memory foam, and place the fitted sheet.

Step 4

Continue to make your bed as usual.
