How to Clean a Chaise Lounge

Kimberlee Leonard

Even with the most diligent care to prevent dirt accumulation or stains, caring for your chaise lounge is not as easy as caring for your carpet. You need to consider the fabric used on your chaise. Using the wrong method or materials to clean your chaise can ruin the lounge, making it worse than the original problem you were trying to clean.

Step 1

Place the upholstery attachment on the vacuum and vacuum the fabric. Lift the cushions and vacuum all sides of the cushion to remove dirt, dust and pet hair.

Step 2

Mix 1 tsp. of cleaner with 8 ounces of cold water.

Step 3

Color test the fabric by spraying a small amount of cleaner in a discreet place on the sofa such as the bottom in a corner near the back. Dab he cleaner with a rag and allow this area to dry for 24 hours. Check the section to see if discoloration occurred to the fabric.

Step 4

Spray any stain with the detergent mix. Use a rag to dab the stain. Refrain from rubbing the stain as this may only spread the stain or push it deeper into the fabric.
