Cleaning Instructions for a Jenn-Air Oven

Jenn-Air offers a wide range of electric, gas and convection or dual ovens for home or professional use. Regardless of which type of oven you have, food and grease splatters can burn onto the porcelain interior, causing smoke, stains and flareups. Appliance owners often resort to harsh chemicals and heavy scrubbing to get their ovens clean, but the self-cleaning feature eliminates these hassles. Super-high heat burns away any residue, leaving only a thin layer of white ash behind.

Step 1

Open windows and doors to ventilate the kitchen. Turn on an exhaust fan, if you have one.

Step 2

Remove the oven racks and any pans or aluminum foil from the Jenn-Air oven.

Step 3

Wipe up excess food or grease with a damp cloth.

Step 4

Close the oven door, and press the "Clean" or "Self-Clean" button. Select the oven you wish to clean if you have a dual model, and choose the time or level of cleaning needed. The door will lock and the cleaning cycle will begin automatically.

Step 5

Wash the oven racks in hot, soapy water with a cloth or sponge. Rinse and dry them thoroughly.

Step 6

Open the Jenn-Air oven door and wipe away ash with a clean, damp cloth or sponge. Replace the oven racks.
