A Portland Springs water cooler dispenser can bring easily accessible, great-tasting, high-quality water to your business or other establishment. However, in order to maintain the quality of your water, you will need to make sure that the dispenser itself is cleaned every three to six months. While not a difficult or time consuming process, cleaning the cooler dispenser is often overlooked.
Make sure unit is unplugged before beginning. Then, remove the empty Portland Springs water bottle and baffle. Drain any remaining water through the spigot.
During step one, you can be boiling enough water to fill the reservoir. When the water has reached the boiling point, pour it into the reservoir and allow it to stand for about three minutes.
Protecting your hands with rubber gloves, use a scrub brush to thoroughly clean the reservoir and baffle. Then, you should place the baffle in the reservoir upside down. Drain the water as before, through the spigot.
Pour additional boiling water into the reservoir and clean the body, handles and spigot with a scrub brush (make sure that you are still wearing your protective rubber gloves).
Again, drain the water used for cleaning through the spigot. Then, replace the rinsed and dried baffles and plastic top, and replace empty water bottle with a full one.
Plug the cooler back in, and allow it to heat and/or cool down for about ten minutes before use.
The drip tray that catches spills should be cleaned at least monthly. It can be easily removed, cleaned with soap and water and then replaced.
