Since Intex pumps hook to your pool through two hose connections, installing the pump primarily involves the hose installation. These hoses pump the water in and out of the pump to filter sediment and other matter out of the water. Once you properly attach the hoses, you can turn on the pump to start filtering your pool water immediately.
Place the Intex pump outside of the pool by the hose connections.
Push one of the strainer connectors and then the nozzle union into the upper hose connection on the inside wall of the pool.
Push the other strainer connector and then the strainer grid into the lower hose connection located on the pool's inside wall.
Push one of the two hoses, using the hose clamp, into the lower hose connection on the pump. The lower hose connection is usually marked with a "+" sign on the pool liner's outside.
Push the other hose, using the hose clamp, into the upper hose connection on the pump.
Push the hose into the hose connection on the pool following the symbols printed on the outside of the pool liner. If the hose connection on the pump is marked with a sign, such as a "+," hook the end of the hose to the hose connection with the "+" sign on the pool pump. Repeat with the second hose.
