How to Remove the Grille on a Honeywell 2-in-1 Air Circulator

Kenneth Crawford

The Honeywell 2-in-1 air circulator is a combination fan. The two fans work independently of each other and help keep down heating and cooling costs by circulating the air in your home. Over time, the motor and fan blades can develop a buildup of dust and grime.

When this happens, it is necessary to remove the front grilles on the Honeywell 2-in-1 air circulator and clean the fan. The key to removing the grilles is finding the hidden retaining screws.

  1. Turn off the Honeywell 2-in-1 air circulator. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, and allow both fan blades to come to a complete stop.

  2. Place newspaper on the floor or a flat surface large enough for you to lay the fan down. Place the fan face down on the newspaper.

  3. Find the recessed screws that secure the front grille to the fan body. The screws are located on the inside edge of the outer circumference, between fins on the rear grille. There are a total of four screws on each fan.

  4. Turn the screws counterclockwise, using a long Phillips-head screwdriver. Turn the unit over and allow the screws to fall onto the newspaper. Place the screws in a safe location.

  5. Twist the front grille on each fan counterclockwise slightly, and pull it straight off the fan.

Tip

Assembly is the reverse process of removing the grilles. It might be necessary to twist the grille back and forth until the screw mounting holes line up with the rear stationary grille mounting holes.
