A soda blaster is a type of equipment used for soda blasting. Soda blasting is an environmentally safe way of removing paint from surfaces. It is also used to clean automobile parts, building structures and other metallic surfaces. Soda blasting can also be used to remove graffiti from walls. A soda blaster machine can be very expensive. However, you can make your own soda blaster at home using baking soda and a few items you can purchase at your local hardware store.
Cut a vinyl hose of about 3 feet using a cutter or sharp knife. You can purchase vinyl hoses at your local hardware store or aquarium supplies store.
Measure one end of the vinyl tube in about 2 inches and mark it with a marker.
Cut across the marked vinyl tube halfway using a razor blade. Don't cut all the way through the tubing. You only want a small hole big enough to insert the air gun attachment.
Stick the tip of the air gun attachment into the hole you created in the vinyl tube. Push it into the tube until the tip is about 1/2 inch in. Wrap 4 inches of transparent masking tape around the vinyl tube and air gun attachment to keep the air gun tip in place.
Connect the air gun attachment to the air compressor and put the other end of the vinyl tube into a bucket filled with about 5 lbs. of baking soda. Point the air gun 2 to 3 inches away from the surface you want to clean.
