How to Hang Fishnet as a Wall Decoration

A blank bedroom wall behind the headboard or one bathroom wall is a good place to consider hanging a fishnet in your nautical or beach themed room. After the fishnet is solidly in place, it will be a pleasure choosing items to display within the netting. Fishnet is also an option to hide a wall that is unsightly because of cracks.

Fishnet is sturdy enough to hold many decorations.

Step 1

Locate the wall studs using a stud finder. Glide the stud finder horizontally across the wall. Depending on the stud finder you are using, a light will appear or there will be a beeping sound when a stud is detected.

Step 2

Screw in hooks to the wall studs near the ceiling. Select the distance for the hooks to be spaced. Generally wall studs are 16 to 24 inches apart, so you may decide to use every second or third stud as the base for a hook.

Step 3

Attach the left and right top corners of the netting to the end hooks on the wall.

Step 4

Allow the netting to drape. Grasp the middle of the netting and place it on the center wall hook. Continue to hook the netting to remaining hooks so the netting has a gentle draping effect between the hooks.

Step 5

Attach lightweight nautical items or attach items reminiscent of a beach or ocean theme to the netting. Use wire or hooks to attach the items. Mount heavy items on hooks attached through the holes of the netting and mounted to wall studs.
