How to Troubleshoot Kenmore Elite Clothes Washers

There are many things about the Kenmore Elite washer that can make your life easier. Among other features, the Kenmore Elite washer features the ability to wash large loads and the washer includes several washings settings from which you may choose. On the other hand, there are also a few things that can cause problems with the Kenmore Elite washer.

Step 1

Remove some of the clothing from the washer if the appliance is especially noisy while it washes clothing. Too much clothing causes an imbalance that results in the washer moving or rattling.

Step 2

Place a level on top of the washer to ensure the appliance is even. A Kenmore Elite washer that is not even causes the appliance to shake and move when it is in operation. If the appliance is not even, use your hands or a wrench to loosen or tighten the feet at the bottom of the appliance.

Step 3

Pull the knob on the appliance to start washing a load after you choose a setting. The washer will not start to wash clothing until this is knob is pulled.

Step 4

Check both of the water valves to make sure they are both turned on. A water valve that is not fully opened will not provide enough water to the washer to allow it to wash the clothing inside it efficiently.

Step 5

Tighten the fill hoses if you notice puddles of water in the floor near the washer. Loose connections can cause water to fall to the floor.

Step 6

Close the lid. The washer will no operate with an open lid.
