When you use an ice maker for several minutes, it may overheat. When an ice maker overheats, it is not able to work effectively and may not dispense ice at all. Refrigerator manufacturers understand that this occurs, and they incorporate a resetting function into the ice maker programming to fix the issue.
Hold in the dispenser arm until the motor stops operating.
Wait three minutes. The motor will reset itself.
Press in the dispenser arm again. The ice maker will now work once more.
