Many models of Frigidaire refrigerators come equipped with a built-in ice dispenser. Select models also have a water dispenser and an in-door ice/water dispensing system. If the fridge is making too much ice, too little ice or even no ice at all, you may need to reset the system in order to resume normal ice production. This is a simple procedure that doesn't require any tools.
Determine whether your fridge has a control panel on the front near the ice/water dispenser. If it does, proceed directly to Step 2; otherwise, skip to Step 3.
Locate the "Ice Off" button on the control panel display. Press and hold the button for three seconds until the light turns red. Wait a few minutes, and then hold the button down for three more seconds until the light turns green to reset the ice maker.
Open the freezer door and feel around the back and side of the ice maker for an "On/Off" lever. Move it to the "Off" position. Wait a few minutes, and then flip the lever back on. If you can't locate a lever, proceed to Step 4.
Locate the plastic — or metal, in some models — control arm that extends from the ice maker over the ice tray. Gently lift the control arm to the "Up" position. Leave it in this position for a few hours and then gently lower it back down. This will stop ice production until the arm is lowered again.
Unplug the fridge from the wall outlet and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Plug it back in and wait until you hear the ice dispenser turn back on. This option is only needed if the previous steps did not work.
