Press the "Off/On" button to turn on your Scale Master Classic tool. Press the "Mode" button to toggle between scale modes such as "ARCH" for architectural or "ENG I" for engineering.
Press the "M1+" button to store a length in order to calculate an area. Use "M2x" to store a width in order to calculate an area. Press "[Rcl] [M2x]" to display the area that is calculated from both the length and width.
Use the "Reset" option to clear the display screen. To switch from imperial dimensional units to metric scales, press the "On/Off" switch. Press and hold down the "Subtract/Count" button while turning back on the unit. Release "Subtract/Count." You will now be in the metric mode and the unit will display "MET."
Switch back and forth between units by pressing and holding "Subtract/Count" and "Mode" simultaneously.
Enter a custom scale by pressing the "Mode" key. "1: CUS 1" will appear on the display screen. Press and hold both "Subtract/Count" and "Scale" together. Press "Scale," then press "M1+" to increase the digits. To decrease the units press "Subtract/Count." Press "Scale" to move to another digit. Press the "Scale" option until all the digits are set and stored in the Scale Master Classic unit.
