How to Program a Steel-Craft Door Opener

Megan Mattingly-Arthur

Headquartered in Canada, Steel-Craft Door Products has been producing high-quality doors for residential, commercial and industrial customers since the company was founded in 1963. Though they don't manufacture their own garage-door openers, Steel-Craft is a leading distributor of LiftMaster brand door openers.

Thanks to an extremely user-friendly programming process, LiftMaster door openers from Steel-Craft can be programmed in less than 30 seconds.

Tip

You can also use the "Prog" button on the Smart Control Panel to program your garage door opener remote. Press the "Prog" button two times in quick succession to access the system's Learn Mode. Press and hold the large button on the remote until the motor-unit lights blink to confirm programming. Steel-Craft offers a variety of LiftMaster garage door opener models. Programming instructions may vary by model. Contact Steel-Craft or LiftMaster directly to obtain model-specific programming advice.

  1. Press and release the "Learn" button of the right side of the garage door opener's motor unit; the adjacent indicator light will come on and stay lit for 30 seconds.

  2. Press and hold the large button on the door-opener remote.

  3. Release the button on the garage-door opener when the lights on the motor unit blink. Note that blinking motor-unit lights indicate that the door-opener has been programmed successfully.
