If you have small children in your home, it is a good idea to lock your KitchenAid Superba range whenever it is not in use. Locking the range ensures that the oven door cannot be opened, and that the buttons are unresponsive to user input when pressed. When you are ready to use the range, you must unlock it, allowing you to open the oven and input settings into the electronic oven control.
Locate the "Start" button on the electronic oven control panel.
Press and hold the "Start" button.
Release the "Start" button when you hear a tone and the padlock icon disappears from the display, which takes approximately five seconds.
