Resetting your jetted spa is necessary every time you want to drain and clean it. Doing so periodically allows you to change out the water and give the jet motors a break. Resetting is also advised if your spa begins malfunctioning for any reason or if you believe something may have become lodged in the filter or one of the jets.
Step 1
Drain the water using the main control panel and turning the valves below. Give it time to drain all of the water; this could take an hour or more depending on the size of your spa.

Turn your spa off using the main control panel. Unplug the spa from the electrical outlet if possible.
Step 3
Clean the spa completely, paying special attention to the jets and filter.

You will find a reset button typically on the heater unit. Usually there is a pilot light. When you're ready to reset, push the button. Some spa units have a high limit switch which will turn off the spa heater if the thermometer fails. Simply press the reset button.
Step 5
Your spa is likely equipped with a GFCI switch which trips if there is typically a power problem. The Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter protects the pump motor and heater from overheating. Push the reset switch. Depending on the size of your spa, you may have two GFCI circuits at the electric plug. One may power the motor pump. Another may power the heater. If the GFCI continues to trip, do not use your spa. Consult an electrician or your spa dealer.
Step 6
Reconnect the spa to an electrical outlet. Refill it with water and turn the temperature up to high to check that it is working properly.
