Common problems with Frigidaire stoves can include baking problems, functionality problems with the range itself, and cleaning problems. Most problems can be easily rectified with a little troubleshooting. A few troubleshooting steps can save a service call-out, saving time, money and frustration.
Preheat the oven when baking. If cookies and biscuits burn on the bottom, then make sure the rack isn't overcrowded. Dark pans will absorb heat quickly, so try a light-colored pan. Try to leave about 2 to 4 inches of air around the pans.
Adjust the rack position if cakes are too dark on the top or the bottom. Make sure the oven isn't too hot. Get the oven to reach the selected temperature before placing the items in the oven. If the problem persists, set the oven temperature lower than for what the recipe calls.
Center the pan if the cakes aren't done in the center. Check that the range is level if the cakes aren't level. Make sure your floor can support the range if it's sagging. Call in a contractor to examine if there's an obvious dip, which is common in older houses with these new beasts of a stove.
Examine the pan closely. Make sure it's not warped if you continue to have baking problems.
Switch on the oven at the wall and ensure that the gas supply is on if the stove won't run at all. Check the supply points and confirm that the lights are on in the house to verify there is power.
Make sure the cleaning cycle wasn't interrupted if the cleaning isn't acceptable. The bottom front, top of oven and door areas outside the oven seal aren't in the cleaning area. These will need to be cleaned by hand.
