Thermos has been manufacturing insulated bottles since 1904. Children, from tiny tots to tweens and young teens, like the cartoon and film characters on the plastic FUNtainer products. If you're concerned about BPA toxins in plastics, rest assured that Thermos makes only BPA-free items. Bisphenol-A, a chemical found in some plastic bottles and the lining of cans, has been linked to increased risk of cancer, diabetes, reproductive problems, and behavioral and developmental problems in children. If you're still worried about the plastic, stainless steel Foogo bottles are for you. The bottles are durable -- the straws, not so much.
Call Thermos at 800-831-9242 to order replacement straws. Replacements aren't sold in stores nor from Thermos' website.
Think ahead -- it's never the bottle that gets lost ... it's always the straw. So buy several replacements and keep them handy in the cabinet near the bottles.
Take good care the the straws you have. Don't allow liquids, especially dairy products, to stay for a long time in the straw. Clean them as soon as possible after use. Use a pipe cleaner and warm, soapy water to clean any residue that might accumulate. Sterilize them by boiling them in water for 3 minutes.
