How to Remove Moss Growing on Concrete Sidewalks and Home Shingles

Moss is a collection of tiny plants that have grown close together. It is often found in locations that have a good amount of shade or that are very damp. If moss is growing on your rooftop or over your concrete driveway, you have reason to be concerned. Moss can cause damage, and it is best to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Moss can cause damage if it grows on your house.

Step 1

Pour 2 1/2 gallons of bleach into a 5-gallon bucket.

Step 2

Add 2 1/2 gallons of water to the bucket and stir the two ingredients together.

Step 3

Transfer the bleach/water solution to a garden sprayer. This will make it easier for you to apply the solution to the moss.

Step 4

Spray your homemade moss killer directly on the moss. Do this on a day when it is not supposed to rain. Also, if you are treating your roof for moss, make sure you spray at the highest point of your roof first and then work your way down to the lowest point. The moss will begin to die within a few hours.
