How to Use Hydrogen Peroxide for Cleaning Windows

Alex Smith

Hydrogen peroxide is a very useful product for cleaning. Its chemical makeup is similar to water, but an extra oxygen molecule makes it a very reactive substance while still being completely nontoxic.

Make a safe glass cleaner using hydrogen peroxide.

Many people who do not want to use chemical cleaners in their homes, many of which contain toxic ingredients, use hydrogen peroxide instead.

  1. Pour 3/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide into a 32 oz. spray bottle.

  2. Add 1 to 2 drops of dish soap. If desired, use scented soap to give your cleaner a pleasant fragrance.

  3. Fill the bottle the rest of the way with water.

  4. Screw on the spray cap and shake the bottle to mix the contents.

  5. Spray the mixture onto the window surface.

  6. Let the spray sit for a few minutes to allow the mixture to loosen any dirt, grime or oils.

  7. Wipe the window with a clean paper towel. If there is still residual dirt, repeat the process.
