How to Clean Spider Droppings Off of the House

Spiders of all shapes and sizes can make a home on the exterior of your house.

According to the MSU Pesticide Safety Education, spiders produce drops of feces that dry and discolor anything onto which they fall. This includes the exterior of your home. You can thoroughly clean the exterior of your house and remove the spider droppings using an inexpensive and common household item.

1. Rinse the surface debris off the siding with a water hose.

2. Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of cool water. Pour 1 cup of oxygen bleach in the water and stir with a long-handled spoon until the oxygen bleach dissolves. Alternatively, use chlorine bleach instead of oxygen bleach. Oxygen bleach is a safer alternative to chlorine bleach and will not harm vegetation or discolor clothing.

3. Dampen a scrub brush with an extension handle in the mixture and begin scrubbing the spider droppings off the siding. Alternatively, fill a pump sprayer with the mixture and saturate the house siding with the mixture before scrubbing with a scrub brush.

4. Leave the mixture on the exterior of the home for 10 minutes. Rinse the siding clean with a water hose. Repeat the process until you have removed all spider droppings from your house.
