Glycol is a chemical in many common cleaners, solutions and coolants. With frequent or repeated use, it is possible to find glycol stains on your floors, clothes or carpets. If this happens, there are steps you can take to make removing the glycol stains as easy and complete as possible. Complete these steps quickly to get your stains out as soon as possible.
Protect yourself with latex or rubber gloves and a pair of safety goggles.
Add 1 oz. of dish detergent to the stain and spray the stain with warm water.
Allow the soap and water solution to sit for around 5 minutes and scrub the area with a scrub brush. Scrub the soap into the surface vigorously for up to 1 minute.
Allow the soap to sit for 1 minute and then soak it up by dabbing with paper towels.
Place a few layers of paper towels on the stain and cover it with something heavy. This will press the towels against the surface and remove any remaining moisture or soap.
