Herpes is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 and Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 are the two viruses that cause herpes. Herpes simplex virus type 1 causes cold sores and is transmitted by kissing and non-sexual touching. Herpes simplex virus type 2 causes genital herpes and is spread by sexual contact. The chances of spreading the herpes virus through dirty clothing or towels is low, but not impossible, and it is always better to be safe than sorry.
Set the washing machine to the hottest setting allowed for the specific type of fabric.
Allow the washer drum to begin to fill with the hot water.
Add the laundry detergent into the water. Use the appropriate amount for the load. Swish the detergent and water together with your hand.
Submerge the clothing into the water and shut the lid. Allow the washer to complete a full cycle.
Remove the clothing and place in the dryer. Dry on medium heat for a complete cycle.
