How to Remove Stickers From Appliances

Lynn Burbeck

Whether they were stuck there by the appliance manufacturer or "decorative" children, stickers can be a pain to remove from home appliances. To remove the entire sticker--plus all of the sticky residue--all it takes is a little patience and a single ingredient from your kitchen pantry.

Remove the stickiness of tape with household vinegar to keep your appliances looking like new.
  1. Place 3/4 cup of white vinegar in a microwave-safe bowl and heat until it is slightly warmed. If you don't have a microwave, place the vinegar in a saucepan and heat over a low flame until it is warm.

  2. Soak a cotton towel in the warm vinegar, making sure that the towel is large enough to cover the entire sticker.

  3. Place the vinegar-soaked towel over the sticker for a few minutes, allowing the vinegar to penetrate the sticker completely. Once the sticker has been thoroughly saturated, it should peel easily from the appliance.

  4. Repeat the process for stubborn stickers if any sticky residue remains. You may need to use a little elbow grease to rub the vinegar into the appliance to remove the sticky residue completely.

  5. Tip

Place some old towels or newspapers around the area where you are working to prevent getting puddles of vinegar all over the floor.
