Using tea bags to make non-combustible incense is a cheap, easy, and creative way to add pleasing smells to a room. The pleasant aroma can help set the mood of an environment, relax the people around it, or cover up other foul odors. One of the benefits of using tea bags is that you may already be familiar with the aroma they will make as incense, and probably already have some in your cupboard.
Choose a fragrant variety of tea, such as jasmine. It is best to use fresh tea bags, as they will have the strongest aroma remaining.
Fill a small bowl with an inch of sand or ash.
Hold the piece of charcoal with the tweezers. Light it with the lighter and then set it in the sand.
Break open the tea bags after the piece of charcoal and surrounding sand has heated. Sprinkle the tea bags over the charcoal and sand. Use at least two tea bags. You can use several more to increase the intensity of its aroma, if desired.
Clean out the used tea incense and add fresh incense before each use. Make sure the charcoal and bowl is cool before handling it.
