Steak Florentine pinwheels are deceptively easy to make but look so fancy your friends and family will think you spent hours assembling them. These flavorful wheels contain baby spinach, cheeses and Italian-style seasonings wrapped in steak. Pinwheels are a great way to dress up inexpensive cuts of meat like flank steak. Prepare steak Florentine pinwheels by grilling or broiling and you’ll have a meal that looks and tastes gourmet without the premium price tag.

Grilled Steak Florentine Pinwheels

Preheat your grill to a high heat. Grease the grill grates by spraying with cooking spray or brushing with oil.

Insert skewers or toothpicks into your pinwheels to hold them together while they cook. Arrange the pinwheels on the grill. Grill for 3 to 4 minutes on each side to achieve a medium-rare doneness. Avoid loosing too much of your steak pinwheel filling when flipping by using a thin, metal spatula.

Remove the pinwheels from the grill and take out the toothpicks or skewers used to hold them together. Let the pinwheels rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Broiled Steak Florentine Pinwheels

Preheat your broiler.

Insert skewers or toothpicks into your pinwheels to hold them together while they cook. Arrange the steak pinwheels on a greased broiler pan. Slide the pan into the broiler, positioning the pan as close as you can to the heating element.

Cook for approximately 4 minutes on each side to achieve a medium-rare doneness. Avoid loosing too much of your steak pinwheel filling when flipping by using a thin, metal spatula. Remove the steak pinwheels from the broiler, take out the skewers or toothpicks and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
