Mold and mildew are two of the toughest things to clean in your household. Both grow and both continuously come back if they're not killed. Bleach is a common product used to kill mold and mildew, but it's a skin and eye irritant that can be toxic. Other commercial treatments, sprays and solvents used to kill mold and mildew can be dangerous for your family and are not environmentally friendly. Beat this problem for good by making your own eco-friendly mold killer without using bleach.
Use the funnel to pour 2 cups of water into the spray bottle.
Put 2 tsp. tee tree oil in to the spray bottle.
Shake the bottle to mix the oil into the water.
Spray the mixture onto mold or mildew, then let it sit.
Do not rinse. You may wipe the mixture up after 2 hours if you've used it outside the bathtub or shower, otherwise just leave it where you sprayed it.
Spread baking soda on the affected area.
Spray straight white vinegar on the baking soda. A chemical reaction will occur, causing the mix to foam and bubble.
Use the scrub brush and a little elbow grease to scrub the mold- or mildew-covered area.
Rinse the mixture and the mold and mildew away.
Regularly spray areas that were affected (around your bathtub, for example).
